The higher education system in Cyprus is realized in existing institutions and is opened for students from different corners of the world.
It can be divided into three stages:
- Basic higher education (degree of the Bachelor)
- Magistracy (degree of the Master)
- Doctorate (Doctor of Philosophy degree)
There are also two types of higher education in Cyprus: non-university level (state and private institutes) and university level (the University of Cyprus).
Conditions for enrollment at non-university institutions are the following: finished elementary and secondary education (the final certificate – Apolytirio), successful passing of the entrance examinations and oral interview with admissions recruiters (if required).
